1st European Day of the Brain
Ageing, Stroke and Alzheimer’s Disease - Finding Innovative Solutions
On the 18th November 2011 in Warsaw the first "European Day of the Brain.
Ageing, Stroke and Alzheimer’s Disease - Finding Innovative Solutions"
took place. The expert conference was organised by the Polish
Ministry of Health in cooperation with the European Brain Council
and DG SANCO. The conference was dedicated to the implementation
of the second health priority of the Polish Presidency, i.e.
the prevention of brain and neurodegenerative diseases.
Important objectives within the framework of the priority include actions aimed at declaring 2014 the European Year of the Brain. To this end, participants of the conference adopted a post-conference conclusion calling EU to make 2014 the EYOB. The conclusion was subsequently presented during the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs (EPSCO) Council of EU Health Ministers in December.
